Since 2002 I have studied Arabic in and/or worked in Lebanon, Iraq, Jordan, Yemen, and the UAE. I have also had extended deployments in Sudan (pre-split), Somalia (Somaliland), and Afghanistan.

My past employers include a United Nations agency, a British university, and several private sector companies. My experience is mostly in human security, but my work in the private sector has given me experience in the oil & gas and media sectors.
